“EARTH is an Organisation in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council”. EARTH is committed and engaged in achieving Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. There are 4042 NGO’s across the Globe having a Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. “EARTH” being one of them has a privilege to submit written and oral statements relevant to the work of the Council on the subjects in which EARTH has a competence, to the Secretary-General of the United Nations. ‘EARTH’ is an Observer to the “State Parties Convention Against Corruption” organised by UNODC, Vienna and an Observer to the “Committee of Experts on Public Administration” organised at UN Head Quarters, New York.
Below mentioned are the actions taken by EARTH to fulfil the aims we propose:
⇒ We carry out different types of surveys in order to understand the psyche of people in certain geographical, economic and political situations.
⇒ We offer information and guidance through awareness programs, newsletter, talk shows, live interaction and social media campaigns.
⇒ We do mobile application development for easy functions of governmental services provided to public.
⇒ We are propagating and discussing the constitution of the country and various other important issues amongst the youth subtly, at the university levels, in order to ignite the flames of humanity and service to mankind as per the laws of the land.
We been actively involved in promoting and informing about fair practices since its formation in 2015. We have an ultimate goal of corruption eradication and educating people about their rights. Creating awareness on existing policies and means to benefit out of the governmental offerings is our sub goal and we have been effective in doing so. We bridge the gap between government agencies and the citizens in order to develop a healthy relation between them.
We reach out to the youth and motivate them to participate and know more about current affairs and developmental issues as they will be the torchbearers of tomorrow. Environmental issue we focus on is to make our world plastic and pollution free.
Women Empowerment and elimination of Violence against Women is an important part of our mission. We educate, motivate and support women to exercise their rights in times of needs and motivate them to be entrepreneurs and support themselves with a backing of skill education and maintenance of hygiene and health. The focus is also on mental health as it is an increasing problem and the root cause of all disturbances across the globe is geometrically increasing mental health issues and lack of awareness to tackle them. Thus, we also work for the cause of mental fitness. We are also working towards making rural areas self-sufficient and sustainable development. Our vision also consists of making rural & tribal areas into main cities to evolve people who are downtrodden and do not enjoy the facilities available in the urban world.
We have indulged into Research and Systematic study of policies, laws and rights. These researches have been the supportive for many other initiatives. We have instrumental in influencing public opinion and/or policy by the means of advocacy/lobbying and have been successfully able to make amendments to certain policies/laws. We work at the local level in the urban and the rural areas and have been associated with the grass root level for various initiatives. Considering this scenario, we belong to all three categories and would like to contribute immensely for the same today and in the coming future. India happens to be a developing country and geometrically growing population there are various need at the grass root level which need to be identified, for which we conduct and execute surveys/systematic study. Inferences from the same equip us with the requirements and the data at hand. This date, we further use to influence the government by advocating/lobbying for the implementation required at the grass root level.
After considering our work towards the society the United Nations was pleased to grant ‘earth’ Special Consultative Status in 2019 i.e. in just four years of its formation.
The vision of Earth Ngo is to create sustainable change in society and the environment with the help of the youth and make the earth a better place for all by saving water, forest, reducing plastic use, using more solar power options, growing more trees. Sustainable and stable economic growth, social progress, and environmental protection are what we all want. We can make the world a better place by 2030. The global goals are who we, humanity, want to be. Working on SDGs makes the world a better place for everyone in every aspect.
The division of Sustainable Development goals plays the key role in the implementation of the UN 2030 agenda if these goals are fulfilled by 2030 life on earth will be better for everyone such as eliminating poverty in all its forms, no hunger everyone should have safe nutritious, and sufficient food, equal access to healthcare, quality education, gender equality, access to safe drinking water and sanitation, clean energy by achieving these goals each member of our society will be equal, safe and happy. Sustainable and stable economic growth where everyone has decent job infrastructure and support of innovations. Cities and settlements are developed without damaging the environment and people achieving these goals will result in the well-being of people and our planet.
