2018 saw the rise of the #MeToo movement in India. Inspired by a global campaign against sexual harassment and assault, women across the spectrum opened up and shared their stories about abuse by men in positions of power. However, this was just the first time that a movement like this scaled up to a global level. Male entitlement/patriarchy is entrenched in most parts of the world, including India. But its genesis and manifestations are varied. Man, Woman & #MeToo sheds light on its origin in the Indian subcontinent, and how it has evolved through the various ages from the olden times, to the present day of #MeToo India. The documentary will reveal this journey, it will help people realize the magnitude of the problem, the origins of them, that they have also been part of it - as enablers, almost on an everyday basis. Since most of the case-studies are from middle-class and upper-middle-class families. it will reveal to the viewers that this is part of their community too, not just a poor people’s issue.
