EARTH has planned to host International Day for the Elimination of the Violence against Women every year 25 November to support the cause of the United Nations. Ending violence against women and girls is critical to achieve sustainable development and more peaceful societies.

Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread violations of human rights. According to a 2013 WHO global study, 35 per cent of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual violence. However, some national studies show that up to 70 per cent of women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime from an intimate partner.

To raise awareness and trigger action to end this global scourge, the United Nations observes International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November. The date marks the brutal assassination in 1960 of the three Mirabal sisters, political activists in the Dominican Republic.

Ending violence against women is one of UN Women’s key priority areas, with programmes addressing the pandemic implemented globally.

We at EARTH would like to join hands to raise public awareness every year on that date. The battle to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world remains a challenge worldwide.

We at EARTH NGO have planned to organise an event to promote the cause of the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of the Violence against Women and support such women who suffer from violence.

To extend our support to such sufferers, EARTH has launching a TEJASWINI website to help the distress women in need with their free consultation services in terms of Legal and Medical requirements. Along with the website launch there was an award ceremony to felicitate independent women who have overcome the pain of the violence and organisation who work towards elimination of violence against women.
